Bulletin 08 March 16

President Ian welcomed a rather reduced membership tonight but the absents may have foresight as our trip to the Civil Defence was cancelled at the very last minute due to a Police Incident requiring the use of the building, better luck next time.

President Ian also delivered some feedback from last week’s Directors meeting.

The District Training Assembly takes place at Palmerston North on Sunday 10th April. If anyone would like to go, please see Andrew in the next week or so to register.

Incoming President, Andrew Wylie is looking for a Programme Organiser for next year as Mick would like to step down. Any volunteers or suggestions will be most welcome.

Tonight’s soap by Alistair McIlroy was an amusing story regarding the bureaucracy that exists in faceless companies with Alistair’s example of his energy bill and statement information conflicting with the truth coupled with the impossibility to speak to a human on the other end of the phone!

Parting Thought

Tonight’s parting thought by Michael Archer, written by T.S. Eliot in 1934 but still poignant for 2016:

“Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?”
